Q & A

Here are some actual questions that we’ve been asked.  Feel free to ask us others here.

~Travel~

Q: What inspired you to travel?

A: We have always loved to travel.  A few years ago, we each created our own list of 125 life goals.  Once we completed our lists, we categorized the goals based on business, family, finance, lifestyle, mental, physical, relationships, and spirituality.  We discovered that a significant number of our goals were  travel-based.  It is empowering to set forth on this incredible journey.

Q: Where will your adventure take you?

A: Check out a full account and interactive map of where we’ve been and an itinerary revealing where we’re going.

Q: How long will you travel?

A: Indefinitely– if we could!  Our original plan estimated a year to travel the world.  However, we discovered that exploring takes time.  Thus, our goal remains to visit all the continents in our life time.

Q: What inspired the name: Create Your Own Path?

A: We believe that we are all unique and gifted individuals. So, rather than letting society or the world define you, we hope to empower you to, literally, create your own path.  Tap into your innermost passions and talents and follow your dreams–you never know where they could lead you– perhaps on a journey around the world!

Q: Who will benefit from Create Your Own Path?

A: Anyone who is excited to broaden his/her horizons by exploring new cultures, sites, and experiences and growing through personal development.

~Packing and Preparation~

Q: How do you prepare for a trip like this?

A: As you can imagine, preparing to circumnavigate the globe isn’t something that happens in a day. The best strategy~ make a master list and check off each task when it’s completed.  For more details about immunizations, visas, and travel insurance, click here.

Q: What are you bringing with you?

A: When traveling for a long time, our mantra is “less is best.”  Therefore, we’re traveling with as little as possible.

Q: How are you able to afford to travel for this long?

A: We made conscious choices (renting our home, selling our car) and saved to make this goal a reality.  Thus, we didn’t win the lottery (although we deem this experience to be the case!), nor do we have a trust fund.  It’s also important to realize that we travel on a budget, so the cost may not be as high as you imagine.  Finally, we are attempting to sustain our traveling through freelance projects.  If interested in working with us or discovering what we can do for you, click here.
